Snooker 900 — Changsha
Chinese eight-ball star Zheng Yubo took the Kangxi Shengshi Snooker 900 Open in Changsha overnight, beating World Snooker Tour pro Jiang Jun 10–2 in the best-of-19 final and pocketing the 300,000 yuan winner's cheque.
The format is the story as much as the scoreline: each frame is capped at 900 seconds with a 20-second shot clock, which squeezes classic snooker defence and rewards the tempo Zheng brings from Chinese pool. He trailed Lan Yuhao 3–5 in the semi-final before flipping it 6–5; Jiang scraped past Xiao Guodong 6–5 after leading 5–1. In the final Zheng led 7–2 at the interval and closed it out 10–2, per Chinese sports reports this morning (Sina Sports and NetEase).
Ronnie O'Sullivan opened the Changsha stop as a guest earlier in the fortnight but did not play the main draw.
