Wu thrashes Trump 6–1 — all-Chinese Shenzhen final locked; Seo & Chou set Women’s Worlds decider
World champion Wu Yize ripped through six frames on the bounce to dump Judd Trump 6–1 in the Shenzhen Open semi-finals at Bao’an Sports Centre, setting up Sunday’s all-Chinese final against Yuan Sijun, who edged Jimmy Robertson 6–5 in a tearful maiden ranking-final push.
Shenzhen Open — semis done
- Wu Yize 6–1 Judd Trump — Trump took the opener with a 77, then Wu ran six straight, sealing it with a 110. Breaks of 81, 53 and 51 along the way. Wu said he’d seen Yuan shed tears ahead of the evening session and hoped for a great final; a win would also leapfrog Trump to world No. 2 after the final.
- Yuan Sijun 6–5 Jimmy Robertson — lead swapped all match; the decider ran about 50 minutes with 177 points scored. Robertson snookered Yuan on the last red and clawed back 41 in penalties before Yuan cleared to the pink. Yuan called his first ranking final “a little bit late” after tough years since 2020.
- Final: Wu Yize v Yuan Sijun — best of 19, Sunday 4 October (two sessions).
Women’s Worlds — finalists locked in Bali
- Seo Seoa 3–1 Wei Tzu-Chien (4–2, 1–4, 4–0, 4–1) — defending champion into another Worlds final.
- Chou Chieh-Yu 3–0 Chihiro Kawahara (4–1, 4–3, 4–3) — 2023 champion through clean.
- Final: Seo Seoa (KOR) v Chou Chieh-Yu (TPE).
