India has named an 18-player squad for the Commonwealth Cue Sports Championships in Ahmedabad (7–10 October), spanning billiards, snooker, 10-ball, heyball and blackball — billiards making its debut on that programme.
Plenty of green-baize action without leaving the sofa this weekend: finish International Championship qualifying in Leicester, then flip to Vietnam and Tokyo for the pool majors.

International Championship qualifying — Leicester
Action continues at the Mattioli Arena through Saturday. Jimmy White, still the oldest man on the World Snooker Tour at 64, rolled back the years with a 6–5 win over Matthew Stevens after squandering a 5–2 lead and surviving a deciding frame. Kyren Wilson also needed a decider, recovering from 5–2 down to edge Leone Crowley 6–5, while Neil Robertson whitewashed Alexander Ursenbacher and Barry Hawkins blanked Oliver Sykes.
Still due through Friday and Saturday: Mark Selby, Mark Williams, Luca Brecel, John Higgins and Shaun Murphy. Venue stages in Nanjing run 31 October–7 November, with Wu Yize, Zhao Xintong, Ding Junhui and Judd Trump already held over into the main draw.
