WPBSA Success for World Women’s Snooker Day at Halo World Championship

World Women’s Snooker Day took place on Tuesday (28 April) at the Sheffield Winter Garden during the Halo World Snooker Championship.

The annual event saw players from the World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour help raise the visibility of women’s snooker and the opportunities that exist for women of all ages and ability levels to pick up a cue and play our sport competitively.

The core activities were led by an all-female coaching team of Tessa Davidson and Zoe Killington – both current WWS Tour players – in the WPBSA Cue Zone as they encouraged female spectators to engage and try snooker, as well as organise competitive matches among Tour players to demonstrate the inclusivity of our sport.

During the live coverage provided by the BBC throughout the day, Abigail Davies spoke to Daisy May Oliver on the Crucible floor to discuss her recent run to the semi-finals of the English Women’s Championship and the ongoing development of women’s snooker in the UK and beyond.
