Mosconi Cup 2026 Returns to Orlando
The 2026 Mosconi Cup takes place from 27–30 November 2026 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, as Team Europe and Team USA renew one of cue sport's biggest rivalries.
Europe arrive as defending champions after beating the USA 11–3 at Alexandra Palace in 2025. That victory gave Europe a sixth consecutive Mosconi Cup and a record-extending 17th title.
For Team USA, the challenge is clear: win on home soil and end a losing run stretching back to their last victory in 2019.

How Mosconi Cup Qualification Works
The 2026 teams will each contain five players:
- Three automatic qualifiers from the Mosconi Cup rankings
- Two wildcard selections
The qualification period began with the River City Open 2025.
The final ranking event for automatic qualification will be the 2026 Philippines Open Pool Championship from 20–24 October.
When that event finishes, the top three eligible European players and top three eligible American players will secure automatic places. Two wildcards will then complete each team.
Current Team Europe Rankings
Following the 2026 US Open, the leading European players in the Mosconi Cup race are:
- Francisco Sánchez Ruiz – $146,275
- Joshua Filler – $77,640
- Aleksa Pecelj – $62,170
- Olivér Szolnoki – $57,885
- Moritz Neuhausen – $47,350
- Kledio Kaçi – $44,700
- David Alcaide – $42,775
That currently puts Sánchez Ruiz, Filler and Pecelj into Europe's three automatic qualifying positions.
Sánchez Ruiz has opened a huge advantage at the top after winning his second US Open Pool Championship title in 2026.
Behind him, the fight is much closer. Pecelj, Szolnoki, Neuhausen, Kaçi and Alcaide remain part of a fascinating battle, while established Mosconi Cup names further down the standings may need a strong finish or a wildcard.
Current Team USA Rankings
The American race is even tighter:
- Shane Van Boening – $55,000
- Tyler Styer – $27,470
- Thorsten Hohmann – $25,050
- Fedor Gorst – $24,870
- Skyler Woodward – $10,900
- Justin Bergman – $7,500
At present, Van Boening, Styer and Hohmann hold the automatic positions.
But third place could hardly be closer.

Just $180 separates Hohmann and Gorst.
That makes the remaining ranking events hugely important. A player of Gorst's quality missing automatic qualification would also create a major wildcard decision.
Johan Ruijsink Returns to Lead Team USA
Team USA will be led by Johan Ruijsink, who returns as non-playing captain for 2026.
Ruijsink was at the helm for America's back-to-back victories in 2018 and 2019 – the USA's two most recent Mosconi Cup wins.
His return adds another storyline to Orlando. Can the captain who helped stop Europe before do it again?
The venue itself will also feel familiar. The Caribe Royale hosted the 2024 Mosconi Cup, when Europe won 11–6 in front of a passionate American crowd.
Mosconi Cup Format
The Mosconi Cup is a team nine-ball competition featuring:
- Team matches
- Doubles matches
- Singles matches
Each match is worth one point towards the overall score.
Recent editions have featured up to 21 matches, with each individual match played as a race to five and the first team to reach 11 points winning the Mosconi Cup.
The full 2026 match order and player combinations will be announced closer to the event.

General sale is open and the World Nineball Tour says limited availability remains across the four days.

How to Watch the 2026 Mosconi Cup
A major US broadcast agreement has already been confirmed.
Fans in the United States will be able to watch every session live on ESPN+, with coverage also available through WNT TV.
International broadcast arrangements can vary by territory, so UK and overseas viewers should check the latest World Nineball Tour listings closer to the event.
Europe Chasing Seven in a Row
Europe's current winning streak is remarkable:

The USA last lifted the trophy in 2019.

For Europe, the battle around the third automatic position could go deep into the qualification period.
For the USA, only $180 currently separates Hohmann and Gorst, while players such as Skyler Woodward remain outside the automatic places.
