News Kim Bo-mi Roars Back From 0–3 Down to Win Her First LPBA Title — Ouschan Knocked Out in Doha; Wilson Leads Jones 6–2 Going Into the Belfast Night

Sunday evening, 25 October 2026 — Reggie Rutherford. All times GMT.

Kim Bo-mi finally gets her trophy, and she did it the hard way. Three sets down to Lim Jeong-sook in the LPBA final in Goyang, with three lost finals already behind her, Kim won the next four to take the NH NongHyup Card LPBA Championship 4–3. Korean outlets Billiards and Edaily both say it's the first time anyone has come back from 0–3 in a best-of-seven LPBA final. In the men's PBA it has happened once, when Kang Dong-koong did it to David Zapata at the opening event of the 2021–22 season.

LPBA final: how it turned
  • Set scores (Kim first): 4–11, 10–11, 4–11, 11–9, 11–8, 11–2, 9–5.
  • The first three sets were all Lim. She made a high run of 7 in her second inning of the opener and closed it out in four innings. Kim was 10–8 up in the second and lost it 10–11 when Lim ran three. The third went the same way.
  • Then it turned completely. Kim took the fourth 11–9 and the fifth 11–8. She hammered the sixth 11–2, and the deciding seventh set (played to 9) went her way 9–5.
  • Why it matters to her: Kim debuted in June 2019. That's seven years and four months of waiting, per Billiards. Before tonight she had lost all three of her finals: twice to Kim Ga-young (3–4 at the 2024 World Championship, then 2–4 at the High1 Resort event) and once 3–4 to Sruong Pheavy. She is 28, and on the way to this final she beat Kim Ga-young 3–1 in the quarters.
  • Lim, 40, was in her first final for two years and eight months and was going for a sixth title. She came into the week off three straight last-128 exits, so just reaching the final was a real return to form.
  • Prize: 40 million won.
The men's PBA quarter-finals were played in Goyang today: Antonio Montes v Can Çapak, Lee Sang-dae v Kim Nam-su, Cho Kun-hwi v Lee Seung-jin, and David Martínez v Lee Choong-bok. I haven't seen confirmed scores yet. The men's final is on Monday night in Korea.

Doha: Ouschan is out
Double elimination only protects you once. Albin Ouschan, the No. 8 seed, lost his opening match to Walter Laikre on Saturday. On Sunday he lost again, 9–5 to Raymund Faraon in the first losers' round, so he's out of the Qatar 10-Ball World Cup before the last 64. Faraon had lost 9–8 himself on day one. Results are from the Qatar Billiard Sports Federation's live scoring.

  • Unfinished matches from midday: David Alcaide beat Aleksa Pecelj 9–7 and Bernie Regalario beat Ralf Souquet 9–5. Thorsten Hohmann lost 9–8 to Dimitrios Loukatos, so he's on the one-loss side in his first event since turning down Team USA. Niels Feijen beat Mohammed Albalushi 9–3.
  • Seeds who dropped into the one-loss side: Wojciech Szewczyk lost 9–6 to the Philippines' Aivhan Maluto in the winners' qualification round, and Jayson Shaw lost 9–7 to Mohammed Baabad. Both need to win once more on Monday.
  • Already in the last 64: defending champion Jonas Magpantay (9–5 v Jan Van Lierop), Szymon Kural (9–3 v Jundel Mazon), Mario He, Eklent Kaci and Kledio Kaci (both 9–8), John Morra, Ruslan Chinakhov, Jerico Bonus, and Qatar's Ali Alobaidli, who beat Juan Carlos Expósito 9–2.
  • Survivors on the losers' side: Naoyuki Oi (9–2 v Mohanad Jasim), Wiktor Zieliński (9–3 v Jeffrey Ignacio) and Mark Estiola (9–1 v Sullivan Clark) all live to fight another day.
Monday in Doha: the second half of the winners' qualification starts at 08:00. That includes Fedor Gorst v Jefrey Roda, Carlo Biado v Hsieh Chia Chen, Francisco Sánchez Ruiz v Habib El Hussein, Alcaide v Bashar Hussain, Regalario v Denis Grabe, and Feijen v Mustafa Alnar, the man who beat Filler. At 10:30, Joshua Filler (v Albalushi), Pecelj and Hohmann all play must-win matches. Shaw and Szewczyk are in the losers' qualification at 15:30. The last 64 (races to 11) starts on Tuesday at 08:00. It's streamed on the QBSF YouTube channel.

Belfast: Wilson three frames away
Kyren Wilson leads Jak Jones 6–2 after the first session of the Northern Ireland Open final. He made three centuries this afternoon: 101 in the opening frame, 135 to go 4–1 up and 105 in the last frame of the session. Jones made 72 to level at 1–1 and 130 in the sixth, but he scored just 10 points in frames three to five. Play resumed at 19:00, first to nine. Live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Here's what's at stake, per WST. Wilson's last ranking final was the 2025 Players Championship, and an 11th ranking title would move him past Jimmy White on the all-time list. Jones would break John Higgins's record for the fastest first three ranking titles, so he needs a bigger escape than the 4–1 comeback against Williams last night. I'll have the result in the morning.

Oberhausen: Powell wins Q Tour 3
Riley Powell is the Q Tour Europe champion in Germany. He beat Mark Lloyd 4–1 in the final, which finished around 17:40. The frames went 68–56, 102–0 (a century), 65–40, 21–89 (Lloyd 79) and 71–1 (Powell 71). Neither semi-final went the distance. Powell whitewashed Peter Lines 4–0, a few hours after Lines had edged home favourite Lukas Kleckers 4–3. Lloyd beat Mark Joyce 4–0. Scores on snooker.org.

Heathrow: a tough day for Attard
Now the result I owed you. Johan Attard lost the Men's World Grand Prix final 5–3 to England's Garry Mehmet at the WPA Blackball World Championships. Malta Sport said Mehmet had a few fortunate moments along the way. Attard went straight into the men's singles, beat Shaun Kurt Martheze 6–3 and then Malta's Clint Azzopardi 6–5. Tonight he lost 6–3 to Clint I'Anson in the last 16.

  • Men's singles last 16 (race to 6) results so far: Gareth Hibbott 6–4 Andy Stentiford, Christophe Lambert 6–4 Michael Smout, Kevin Martin 6–4 Imad Lahsini and I'Anson 6–3 Attard. The rest were still on when I checked CueScore: Miguel Amato led Bouchaib Farhat 5–3, Alexis Klinka led Evan Parry-Williams 5–3, Sello Phala v Oussama Masskini was 5–5, and Kieran Hawkins led Abderahmane Ech-Chorfy 3–1.
  • Next: quarter-finals on Monday at 19:00, semi-finals on Tuesday at 15:00 and the final on Tuesday at 20:00.
  • Teams: Malta's Men's A side beat India 19–6. The team finals are on 28 October.

Kuala Lumpur: two Indians in the women's last 16
The group stage of the Niche Cues Women's Open is over, and both Indians are through. Shruthi Lakshminarayanan has a big draw: Ng On Yee, who won all four group matches without dropping a frame, at 05:00 on Monday. Anupama Ramachandran beat group leader Lee Sook Kwan 2–0 to top Group J and plays Narucha Phoemphul at the same time. The other last-16 ties include Liu Ziling v Panchaya Channoi and So Man Yan v Baipat Siripaporn. The last 20 is at 02:00, the quarter-finals are at 08:00, and the semis and best-of-nine final are on Tuesday. Scores on snooker.org and CueTracker.

Elsewhere
  • Gandia: the three 8-ball finals at the Predator European Seniors Championships (46-plus, 56-plus and ladies) are on tonight. Going into the day, Portugal led the medal table with three golds. The 9-ball started today, and its finals and the team events finish on Tuesday. The last Euro Tour event of the year, the Spanish Open, follows from Thursday 29 October. Tables 1–3 are on Pro Billiard TV.
  • Mosconi Cup: still no word from Team USA on who replaces Hohmann.
