Sofia — Jones books the final; Young ends Lam’s title defence
Per snooker.org live scoring at the Princess Hotel, Edward Jones (seed 44) beat Dean Young 4–2 in the first semi-final (breaks of 50 and 54 in a 70–16, 74–31, 74–1 start; Young clawed two frames before Jones closed 91–8). That puts Jones into the best-of-7 final for £6,000 and 10,000 Q Tour ranking points.
Young’s path was the story of the morning. Seeded 21, he knocked out Event 1 winner and No.1 seed Sanderson Lam 4–3 in the quarters — the clearest scalp of the week — before falling short against Jones. Other quarter-final scorelines: Jones blanked Tomasz Skalski 4–0; Belgium’s Sybren Sokolowski edged Mark Lloyd 4–3; Malta’s European Six Reds champion Aaron Busuttil beat Riley Powell 4–1.
