Gao Yang [72] did not waste the opportunity: a 4–0 whitewash of He Guoqiang [40] at Mattioli Arena. Frames gone, no drama, Edinburgh booked.
Ryan Day [38] had to dig. He edged Michal Szubarczyk [74] 4–3 in a best-of-seven that refused to settle early — another seed through the hard way.
