Midday cuesports roundup — Wednesday 30 September 2026.

Women’s Worlds: Host Permata Sari blanked as winners’ qualification opens

The story at the Bali International Convention Centre has flipped to the Kamui WPA Women’s 9-Ball World Championship ($200,000). Winners’ qualification is underway — and Indonesia’s home favourite is already out.

Chia Hua Chen blanked host Julia Permata Sari 2–0 to become the first player through to the last 16. Former world champion Chieh-Yu Chou followed with a clean 2–0 over Zhu Qing Bi. Still live as this files: defending champion Seo Seoa 1–1 Chia-Chia Chou, Kristina Zlateva 1–1 Chezka Centeno, Kristina Tkach leading Venus Lim, Meng-Hsia Hung vs Tzu-Chien Wei, Savannah Easton vs Yuki Hiraguchi, and world No. 1 Pia Filler ahead of Annita Kanjaya.

Loser Round 2 is now fully cleared. Still breathing on the losers’ side after that round: Kelly Fisher (2–0 Samia Konishi), Rubilen Amit (2–0 Ayako Maruoka), Han Yu (2–0 Margarita Fefilova), Fu Xiaofang (2–1 Desi Aristia), Soledad Ayala, Harin Lee (who blanked Jasmin Ouschan 2–0), and others. Casualties included Liu Shasha (0–2 Huang Qing Ning), Chen Siming (1–2 April Larson), and Ouschan. Loser Round 3 has already seen Shi Tianqi blank Larson 2–0; Fisher, Amit, Han Yu, Fu and Ayala are among those still on the cloth.

Men’s Open: Host Gebby through; Szewczyk dumped by Aranas

Half of Winner Round 1 is in the book at the Aramith Men’s Open ($150,000, 10-ball). Host hope Gebby Adi Wibawa Putra edged Jeffrey Ignacio 2–1. Elsewhere: Aloysius Yapp blanked Jonas Magpantay 2–0, Jayson Shaw blanked Ali Al Obaidli 2–0, Kledio Kaçi blanked Albert James Manas 2–0, Robbie Capito 2–0, and Bryant Saguiped 2–1 Mieszko Fortuński.

The shock of the session: Saigon world 10-ball champion Wojciech Szewczyk fell 1–2 to James Aranas and drops to the losers’ side. Also through: Phương Nam Phạm 2–1 Mario He, Jeffrey De Luna 2–1 Bader Alawadhi, Genesis Ouano, Jonas Souto, Mi Le, Sun Yi Hsuan, Roman Hybler, Daniel Macioł, Mohanad Mohammed. Sixteen Winner Round 1 ties still wait — including Filler, Gorst, Biado, Eklent Kaçi, Ouschan, Alcaide and Sanchez Ruiz.

Doubles Worlds: USA–Spain still waiting

No new finished sets since Tuesday at the Isak Billiard WPA Men’s Doubles 10-Ball Worlds. Winners’ qualification remains USA vs Spain, Chinese Taipei–Netherlands, Germany–Poland, Finland–Syria. Loser Round 3: China–Indonesia, Albania–Philippines, Singapore–Vietnam, Norway–Great Britain.

Shenzhen: Selby’s three tons; Wakelin and Holt blank rivals

Beyond this morning’s Wilson / Murphy / Maguire last-16 berths, the Shenzhen Open last 32 has kept filling. Mark Selby produced three centuries in a 5–1 over Jackson Page. Chris Wakelin blanked Stuart Bingham 5–0; Michael Holt blanked Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 5–0; Si Jiahui beat Gary Wilson 5–3. Already through earlier: Trump (w/o), both Robertsons, Surety, Donaldson, Jimmy Robertson. Still to tip Wednesday: Fan Zhengyi–Yuan Sijun, Hawkins–Slessor, Carter–Walden, and the Chinese derby Xu Si vs Wu Yize.
