News Bingham Makes a 147 From 0–2 Down at the Pink Ribbon — Moody and Pullen Also Through; Doha's $450k 10-Ball Is Next

Midday, and the best thing I've seen this morning came from a charity pro-am in Great Wyrley rather than a TV arena. Stuart Bingham was 2–0 down in his last-16 match at the Pink Ribbon, then won four frames in a row. One of them was a 147. After that: Manila, Doha and a couple of Monday-night boards.

SNOOKER — PINK RIBBON FINALS DAY, LANDYWOOD
  • Per CueTracker's frame scores, Mateusz Baranowski opened with a century and took the first two frames. Bingham answered with a 55, then the 147 in frame four, then 86 and 123 to win 4–2 (best of seven). He also won the last Gloucester edition of this event back in 2019.
  • Stan Moody, fresh from his Snooker 900 final win over Gary Wilson, beat Simon Blackwell 4–2 with breaks of 138 and 100. Liam Pullen beat Oliver Sykes 4–1, finishing with a 106.
  • Monday's last 32 had some bite. David Grace led Gary Wilson 3–0, got pegged back to 3–3 and then won the decider with a 90. Joe O'Connor came from 0–2 down to beat Ryan Day 4–2. Mark Joyce knocked out the 2024 winner, Oliver Lines, 4–2.
  • Still in it today: Chris Wakelin, Ricky Walden, Jimmy Robertson, Elliot Slessor, Harvey Chandler, Hamim Hussain, Joyce, O'Connor and Grace. The event raises money for breast cancer charities. Scores on WPBSA SnookerScores and CueTracker.

NORTHERN IRELAND OPEN — HENDRY ON LISOWSKI
  • Jack Lisowski goes back to Belfast as defending champion but has had a run of early exits, according to TNT Sports. He is 18th in the rankings and needs results to avoid qualifying for next month's UK Championship. Stephen Hendry, on the World Snooker podcast: "He should do as he really needs a performance, Jack Lisowski, because he's really struggling."
  • Lisowski plays Huang Jiahao at 13:00 on Sunday. Shaun Murphy (15 centuries this season, no trophy yet) plays Liam Davies at 21:00.

REYES CUP — TWO DAYS OUT
  • Francisco Sánchez Ruiz is about to play his third Reyes Cup after losing the first two. He told World Nineball Tour: "Definitely we have to change something. We have a very strong team." Ralf Souquet's side has been working on doubles in its early sessions.
  • The two captains go back a long way. Bustamante beat Souquet 11–9 in the 1998 World Pool Masters final, and he and Efren Reyes beat Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann 11–9 in the 2009 World Cup of Pool final. In January, at WNT Legends, Souquet trailed Bustamante 1–6 and won 11–10.

MIDDLE EAST — DOHA'S BIG WEEK MOVES ON
  • This should have been the WCBS Games in Doha (12–15 October). WCBS postponed them in July and now plans to hold them in 2027.
  • Doha still has a big pool event coming. The Qatar World Cup 10-Ball runs 19–29 October at the Ezdan Palace Hotel with a US$450,000 prize fund. Four qualifiers come first, then a 128-player main event, with the draw on 23 October and a race-to-13 final. Police Files Tonite reports that Marlon Manalo is entered and returning to international play.

MONDAY BOARDS
  • Stavanger: Jozsef Szekely won the Inside Stavanger Monday handicap 9-ball, going 5–0 in matches and beating Nevzat Yesil in the final (CueScore).
  • Redhill: JP Thompson went unbeaten through the Monday Night Plate, with Graham Thompson second (CueScore).

WHERE TO WATCH / WHAT'S NEXT
  • Today: Pink Ribbon quarter-finals through to the final, Landywood. Scores on WPBSA SnookerScores.
  • 15–18 Oct: Reyes Cup, Makati Coliseum. Live on WNT TV, and on ESPN+ in the USA from 7am ET each day.
  • 17–22 Oct: English billiards at Landywood. The English Open is 17–18 Oct and the World Championship 19–22 Oct (winner £7,500), with the Women's World Championship on 21 Oct. David Causier is the defending champion. Table 1 streams live.
  • From 18 Oct: zgm NH NongHyup Card PBA-LPBA Championship, Goyang KINTEX.
  • 18–25 Oct: Northern Ireland Open, Waterfront Hall. Live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
  • 19–29 Oct: Qatar World Cup 10-Ball, Doha.
  • 30 Oct–1 Nov: Sydney Open billiards at Mounties. Peter Gilchrist is the defending champion.

I'll have the Pink Ribbon winner tonight. If you were at Landywood for the 147, tell me what the room was like.
