The wheelchair classification event was won by England’s Tony Southern (Groups 1+2) for a third time, after he defeated home player Kurt Deklerck 3-0 in the final. Having topped his round robin group stage without the loss of a frame, he whitewashed Deklerck in the title match to regain the title for the first time since 2020.

In the ambulant competitions, there were victories for Peter Hull (Group 3), William Thomson (Group 4) and Dave Bolton (Group 5) on Sunday.

For Bolton, the top ranked player in his group lost just one frame on his way to regaining the Belgian Open crown, having lost the final a year ago to Cedric Van Wassenhove. He moves to 15 career ranking titles in total, with only Daniel Blunn now higher on 18.

Both Hull and Thomson faced significantly tougher challenges in their respective finals, as they came back from 0-2 down to defeat Joe Hardstaff and Carl Gibson respectively.

Victory for Hull saw him become the only player to successfully defend his title at the event and claim his second career title, while Thomson lifted his tenth career crown and first since the 2025 Hull Open.

Butt-1.jpg

The intellectual classification groups saw victories for Mohamed Faisal Butt (Group 6A) and Leroy Williams (Group 6B). Success for Butt saw him claim gold in Belgium for the first time in four attempts and a tenth WDBS win overall, while Williams maintained his 100% record in Bruges with a third win to join Dave Bolton on 15 career titles.

In the sensory category, Lewis Knowles (Group 8) defeated Mike Gillespie (Group 7) also in a deciding-frame to claim his third consecutive ranking title on the WDBS Tour and ninth in total. Victory will see the Englishman regain the world number one position in his classification group.

Finally, there was victory for Dalton Lawrence in the Challenge Cup, who defeated fellow Group 5 player Gerdy Dupont in the final.

WDBS would like to thank everyone involved in supporting the event, in particular the team at The Trickshot, without whom the staging of the event would not have been possible.
