World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the Chinese Billiard Sports Association (CBSA) and Cantonese Snooker (Changping) are delighted to jointly announce that the World Women’s Snooker Championship will return to Dongguan Changping, China from 12-19 May 2026.

The tournament will be held at the Dongguan Changping Snooker Center, an all-new venue conceptualised and constructed to host the World Women’s Snooker Championship and further key activities in the region.

The confirmation follows the successful staging of the event in Changping in both 2024 and 2025, which last year saw an incredible 74 players contest the most prestigious title in women’s snooker globally.

The tournament was won for a second successive year by China’s Bai Yulu, who earlier this year became world number one for the first time following a rich vein of form which has seen the 22-year-old lift eight ranking event titles during the past three years.

The 2026 Championship is provisionally set to run from 12-19 May 2026, with an opening ceremony scheduled to take place on Monday 11 May.

Further information, including hotel information and how to enter, will also follow as soon as possible.

The major tournament will again be underpinned by snooker’s world governing body the WPBSA, in partnership with China’s national governing body the CBSA, event promoter Cantonese Snooker and the Changping government.

The event will also include the World Women’s Under-21 Snooker Championship and the World Women’s Seniors Championship, won by Thailand’s Panchaya Channoi and England’s Tessa Davidson respectively last year.

“The biggest World Championship so far”

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “I am hugely excited by today’s announcement as we prepare to return to Dongguan Changping for the staging of this year’s World Women’s Snooker Championship.

“Last year was an unforgettable experience as we welcomed 74 players from around the world for what was an incredible week of snooker as Bai Yulu brilliantly lifted her second world title.

“The support of Cantonese Snooker in recent years has been a true gamechanger for women’s snooker, which has been elevated to a new level over the past two years.

“Having visited the Dongguan Changping Snooker Center in the early stages of its construction a year ago, I cannot wait to see the progress that has since been made and to see the first balls potted as the World Championship is staged there for the first time.

“I hope to see as many players there as possible for what promises to be the biggest staging of the tournament so far!”

Jason Ferguson, WPBSA Chairman said: “I am pleased by today’s announcement that this year’s World Women’s Snooker Championship will be held at the Dongguan Changping Snooker Center for the first time.

“The World Women’s Snooker Championship is a key tournament organised by the WPBSA Group and provides a clear qualifying pathway to the professional World Snooker Tour with this year’s champion once again guaranteed to earn a two-year card.

“We continue to enjoy a strong and long-term relationship with our friends and partners at the CBSA and share a vision to facilitate the continued growth of women’s snooker in China and around the world.

“I look forward to seeing the action from this year’s tournament as players journey from around the world to contest the iconic Mandy Fisher Trophy once again.”

Further information, including venue information, the event entry pack and more will be released as soon as possible.
